GALLERY
The gallery at The 3 Brushes reflects my creative practice and studio work. The gallery includes current work for sale as well as exploratory pieces, sketchbook work, workshop examples, and art connected to expressive and art therapy-informed processes. Much of the work emphasizes curiosity, process, and the evolving nature of creative expression.
These pieces reflect moments of reflection, experimentation, and lived experience. My work often explores themes of grief, loss, renewal, change, and embodiment, frequently through imagery of people and nature.
I work across a variety of materials and approaches, with a focus on process as much as final outcome. Mistakes, revisions, and unfinished work are understood as part of the creative process. My practice is continually evolving through exploration and learning.
To make art is to respond, reflect, and resolve

COMMISSION INQUIRIES
Commissioned artwork at The 3 Brushes is created through a collaborative, process-based approach rooted in expressive and studio practice.
Each piece is developed with attention to emotional tone, symbolism, and material exploration. Work often draws from themes of grief, loss, transition, healing, and renewal through imagery of people, nature, and lived experience.
Commissions may include finished works, process-based explorations, or pieces that evolve through conversation and reflection.
I work across a range of materials and approaches, with an emphasis on process as much as outcome. Variations and revisions are a natural part of the creative process.
These works are well suited for personal collections, therapeutic spaces, and environments seeking reflective, meaningful, and human-centered artwork.

To maintain clear professional boundaries and protect the integrity of the therapeutic relationship, The 3 Brushes, LLC does not accept, create, or fulfill commissioned artwork requests, paid creative projects, or private art-making services for current art therapy clients.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Custom or commissioned artwork
Paid or requested creative projects outside of the therapeutic process
Requests for the therapist to create, modify, or complete artwork on behalf of a client
Art-related business transactions between therapist and current clients
Art-making may be used within the context of art therapy sessions as part of the therapeutic process. In this setting, the focus remains on the client’s own expression, exploration, and clinical treatment goals. The art therapist’s role is to facilitate, support, and guide the therapeutic process—not to produce artwork for the client.
While The 3 Brushes, LLC may also maintain a separate professional or creative presence that includes artwork, educational materials, or other offerings, these activities are distinct from clinical services. No commercial or creative services are offered to current therapy clients in order to avoid dual relationships, conflicts of interest, and boundary confusion.
Clients acknowledge that participation in art therapy does not include access to commissioned artwork, private creative services, or artist-for-hire arrangements. Maintaining this separation supports ethical practice, clinical clarity, and the safety of the therapeutic relationship.
Former clients may inquire about creative services after the termination of therapy; however, such requests are reviewed carefully and may still be declined to preserve ethical boundaries and prevent potential dual relationships or conflicts of interest.

Some of the pieces featured may already be sold, given as gifts to friends or family, or are works that are not currently available for sale.
Certain works may later be offered as limited edition prints available for purchase at a future date.
Client artwork created within art therapy sessions is never used for sales, marketing, or promotional purposes, whether the client is a current or former art therapy client.
Any imagery used for sales, marketing, or educational materials is either original work created by Lindsay Downs, The 3 Brushes, LLC, or is properly licensed royalty-free content, or materials sourced from public domain resources.
